anyone use Childrens Benadryl?

DS is really struggling with allergies today.  He didn't sleep well last night and had a crappy nap today due to his nose being so stuffed up.  I'd like to get him some kind of relief tonight so that he can get some good rest.  Anyone use Childrens Benadryl for their DC?  We've used it once before but it was for hives and DS was only 2.  He's 3.5 now and I'm not even sure what dosage - the bottle says ask a Dr for dosage in kids under 6.  I'll call the pedi, but I'm sure it will be awhile before I get a call back since the office is closed now.

I give it to DS when he's congested.

i use the dosage chart on the dr. sears website.

Ditto.  I give it to my youngest (3) before bedtime when she is sick because asthma makes her cough & it's hard for her to get to sleep. My pedi recommended it.  An appropriate dosage for their weight is perfectly safe.

I was just on the Dr Sears website to find the dosing and had decided not to give it because it says talk to your Dr first if your child has any breathing problems such as asthma.  I'm going to bring it up at our next appt with the asthma specialist.

Good idea.  Mine was the one who recommended it but it's def. better to be safe when it comes to asthma.
