Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

How many months pregnant would you go to Disney??

What is the absolute max. number of months pg that you would go to Disney and still be able to enjoy yourself/selves??

As I have posted before, we are planning a trip to Disney in Feb- April 2011. We were planning to start TTC September-ish. If we go in February and get pregnant the first cycle, I would be 5-6 months.

Is this doable?? Last pregnancy, I felt fine up until like 8 months. I also didn't have a toddler, lol. Granted it also took us 9 cycles to conceive DS but what if it doesn't this time, right??

Would you do this or am I crazy??

  • The thought of going to Disney with a toddler sounds exhausting in itself, but then imagine being pregnant, swollen, unable to go on any real rides AND dealing with a toddler. I've been to Disney a few times and there's not *really* that much for toddlers and it's a lot of walking. Plus, 2nd pregnancies tend to get uncomfortable sooner than the first one. I dont know, maybe I'm a wet blanket, but I wouldnt really want to go at all. I'd want to wait until my kids and I could do most of the activities.
  • I went at 5.5 months with DD. We go a lot, and it wasn't the best trip we ever took, but it was still good. I wouldn't go in the summer months pregnant. Actually, we just got back on Friday, and it was HOT. I wouldn't have wanted to be pregnant on this trip. But I'd go at 5.5 months again if I had to. With a toddler, you'll have to take breaks anyway and won't be going from sun-up to sundown, so it should be fine.

ETA: DD has been twice now, and she has the time of her life. She talks about it constantly. There is tons for her to do. We all had so much fun last week that I wouldn't hesitate to go with a toddler.

  • I went to Disney when I was 5 months pregnant, and it was May and hot as could be.  But I did okay walking the parks.  We actually went with DH's family (MIL, FIL, SIL, BIL and 2 kids).  I surprised everyone that I was able to keep up, my FIL was very impressed lol but then again, I had alot of resting time since I couldn't go on really any of the rides, I had to sit and wait for everyone else to go on everything.  I didn't mind too much because I had been there numerous times prior so was already on everything.  By the end of the day though I was very swollen, had to have a pair of flip flops to put on when I couldn't take the sneakers anymore.  So I'd say yes, it'd doable but there's alot you're not going to be able to do/go on. As far as going with a Toddler, I can't offer any advice on that, granted our niece and nephew were with us but I wasn't really responsible for chasing, feeding, taking care of them so I don't know how'd it be with your own toddler.  We are taking DD to Disney in October, she will be turning 2.  We will start TTC right after that trip and that's the reason I'm waiting to TTC, I want to be able to enjoy the experience with her and go on stuff with her.
  • With DS I would have been comfortable going somewhere like that up until like 34 weeks.  I am going to Disney in July and I will be like 6 months, I am not looking forward to that because it will be hotter than hell.  But since you are going in February you should be fine until 7-8 months.  The only reason we are going in July is because its a family trip that grandmom is paying for.
  • I would do 5 or 6 months in February. NOT in August :) That being said you never know how each pregnancy is going to be. But you always have the option to rent a wheelchair or a scooter too if you are worn out. Also, if you  are going to stay on Disney property, I would stay at a monorail hotel if you can afford to. We were just there and stayed at a value Disney resort and while the buses were really pretty timely, it was still a 20-30 minute wait/ride back to our hotel. That made it harder to do morning at Disney, then go back to the hotel for a rest and then back in the evening.
  • Oh, and I kind of disagree that there isn't that much to do there for a toddler. I was REALLY not sure about going with DS for this reason and got talked into it and we did have an amazing trip. We spent one very very full day at the Magic Kingdom and then another part of a day  there and there were plenty of rides he could go on and shows he could see and enjoy. DH and I did none of the rides he couldn't go on.There are a few little playground areas that you can let your LO run around in for a while while you rest too.
