Constructions bday party ideas

Anyone have any great ideas? I'd rather think about R's first bday than work.

construction hats, tools, caution tape, you could do food/lunches in a lunch box like they carry.  tool belts. sandwich type foods.  dress in like jeans and plaid shirts

Use large pieces of foam board to draw out construction scenes for the background. I love the lunch box idea as well as hard hats

Ha!  I was about to say, "Wow! I can't believe he's almost one!"  lol.  I was thinking about a theme for the twins' first birthday, but immediately thought it was too early and did something else.  Guess not!   

I love the lunch in the lunch boxes idea....that would be so easy - just hand a child the box and off they go to eat!  GREAT idea.

Also, maybe dirt pudding in small inverted traffic cones (using a cup to actually hold the pudding---the cone would be easy to handle.  really cool if you could find spoons that look like shovels.
