Is there a difference between a regular old lazy boy and the fancy recliners at BRU (or specifically the best chairs brand)? I'm starting to think about nursery ideas and got sticker shock over the weekend at the BRU recliners. I guess I'm asking, what should I really be looking for in a nursery recliner?
Re: Regular recliner vs best chair/BRU recliners
i don't think so, but consider that you probably won't be able to sit with both babies in any kind of recliner.
we got a loveseat for the nursery so that two people could sit and feed babies at once.

That sounds like a far better plan. The only problem I have is that my bedrooms are super small.
Do you think I won't end up using a recliner then?
I understand - the boys' room is v tiny too, but we managed to squeeze everything in, somehow.
Maybe I shouldn't be answering. Twins is different than triplets in matters like this.

We bought a regular recliner for the nursery, but we feed the babies on our bed in our room. (And the babies are still sleeping in our room, in our bed, in snuggle nests.)
I thought a lot of the chairs at baby stores were really crappy quality. Granted, we didn't look at very many.
I can hold both babies and rock them in the regular recliner, but wouldn't be able to feed them there, obviously.
I like the loveseat idea too.
i can only speak for when i had my daughter but i prefer the rocker a) because she loved being rocked like that, and b) i didn't want to fall asleep in the chair, and i think a recliner would just be an open invite to snoozeville for me.
if you have the room you can get an Ikea loveseat pretty cheap, and they're comfortable (if you were closer i'd give you mine
dh surprised me with the dutalier xl (from bru) last mother's day (while pg). i also had trouble with the $$$. don't know the best chairs brand.
while i don't use the glider near as much had i just one child... i love it. middle of the night when one baby needs comfort, is sick, etc. it is great to sit down!
mine nap in separate rooms & i often wish i had a rocker in my room too... but not enough space.
look for comfort!! i've sat in several of the potterbarn chairs, and for me, the dutalier xl is a dream. i'm 5'9 and this chair could accomodate someone much taller. you can choose custom fabric for a very small fee.
if you don't want a chair, an exercise ball is wonderful!! and you can get 2
we have reclining rockers in both of the boy's rooms --- one is a huge overstuffed recliner type - GREAT to sleep on at the end of pregnancy- or nights when Griffin is sick and we need to stay in his room with him.
the one in the twin's room is smaller, but still very comfy - which is key --- doesn't have to be a "baby" chair - any comfy chair that you can put your feet up on is good... i am a fan of recliners so you don't have a huge ottoman taking up space all the time.
we actually got both of ours on craigslist for about $50 each! in perfect shape!
We bought one of the Best chairs (not at BRU, but another local baby store) and we have not used it with babies yet, but it is way better than a regular recliner in my opinion. It rocks, swivels all the way around, the foot rest pushes back in hands-free and is really comfortable. It is also big enough for two babies (the EZ 2 Nurse pillow fits). The performance fabric also seems really easy to clean.
Granted all that, they are spendy and if you already have something else, I would use that.
