Candi

It was you who mentioned the sweet potato fries.  I mentioned my interest in the WFD post.  Tell me more.  How do you prepare them?

Advice, methods, and experience welcome from others too!  I want to know if your DH's like them.  My DH gets a kick out of the fact that I like to introduce new foods and try new recipes.  Most times he likes whatever it is, but I'm always nervous about it.

  • ((Butting in))  Please also share the Basil Chicken Foil Packets recipe!  It sounds good. :-)

    Yeah, what she said!!

  • I'm sorry I am going to disappoint on the sweet potato fries...Ore Ida makes them, I found them yesterday and have had them in restaurants before so I thought I'd give them a go.  If we like them I might consider making my own, but I'd have to find a good recipe.

Okay the basil chicken foil packets I can deliver on :)

Again this will be the first time I have tried these but they sure do sound good and I was looking for different things to fix since I feel like we are in a food rut.

  • Thanks!  I will have to try these this week or next.  I SO don't feel like going to the store but we gotta have some food.
  • That's a good idea on doing the store bought sweetp potato fries first Candi, I didn't even think of that.  I just perused the food network site and so far I think I like the Neely's recipe the best (from sight)....Paula Deen's a very, very close second.

Anything by the Neely's is sure to be delish...I love watching their show because oh my goodness the food looks mouth watering!

  • Butting in, frozen sweet potato fries are a staple at our house.  I can't remember the name brand, however target carries a brand in a white package and they're chipotle flavored sweet potatoe fries and they're sooo good.

The sloppy joe recipe I use is theirs and I love it. I usually sub w/ ground turkey though because I try to limit our red meat to just once a week (and I'd prefer that to be in spaghetti or a nice juicy steak!)  Still delish though. I've also tried their spicy mac & cheese w/ sausage - so good! I always get good ideas from their show. I usually have plans to try it all but of course that never happens.
