does every mom lose it once in a while ?

It had been a bad afternoon -- DD got a horrid bloody nose from hitting her head on her crib during her nap (still don't know how she has a bumper), DD&DS came to the food store with me and were just terrible (I looked like and felt like the incompetant mom),  DS fell asleep at 5:15 only to wake up like a trainwreck at 6:00.

So I was totally yelling at DH for letting DS fall asleep -- which wasn't his fault DS fell asleep next to him on the couch -- but I was pissed because of the day...So I totally started the yelling chaos!!   I took responsibility for the fight and apologized to DH and he understood -- apologized to DS and he understood....  But I just feel like the bad mom....

How do you guys do it to not lose it! ?  Or does this just happen to everyone once in a while?

  • We all have that day!

Sorry you had a bad day!

  • I try not to let it happen often, but it happens. Lately it's been like once every three months, which is huge progress for me because it used to be once a month or so. I think everyone, parent or no, loses it every now and again. But maybe I'm just making myself feel better?

  • Most of us who aren't *perfect Mums* have those days. Hell, we have coined a term in myhouse for when I lose it: Shrieking Mommy Town. Nice, huh?

    Hugs and deep breath.

LOL. I've been to Shrieking Mommy Town quite a few times myself.

  • Everyone has those days whether the moms on here admit it or not. I know I do it far more often than I should. ((HUGS))

  • I think everyone has days like that and if someone says they don't, I would serious not believe them.  Yes, some people handle things better but everyone has off days.  My DH is the type that gets really quite and just doesn't talk to anyone.  So he may not yell and go off but you can totally tell as he snaps and is so short so its his way - my way tends to be yelling which I hate but I have always been that way - doesn't happen often but enough.  I try and do the deep breaths and putting myself in time out stuff when I can feel it coming on.
