I am in so much pain right now, I can't stop crying. Every time I remotely move the wrong way, it's shooting pain. I tried to nurse the baby this mroning and that was awful- I can't cough, or put my hair in a clip, turn my head even slightly or else I have extreme pain down a muscle in my back.
This happens a few times a year to me. I think I sleep wrong, and I endure pain for about 2-3 days if I turn my head, but it eventually abates. But this is nothing I've ever experienced- I've never full out sobbed in front of my toddler before b/c of pain. Does this just sound like I pulled a muscle or have I done something else like pinch a nerve?
Re: pinched nerve, pulled muscle?
Smooch! Do you have a chiropractor? Form follows function- and if you're out of alignment you cannot function properly.
Feel better soon!!!

My guess is that its muscular. It sounds horrible! I experienced something similar with my neck a year or so ago and I was in agony.
Have you taken anything? Maybe you could call your dr and get an rx for Flexeril or something?
I hope you feel better soon!
Thanks Ladies! MH also believes i've just pulled a muscle (he said sometimes you can't even breathe, which I couild relate to, b/c I couldn't even cough without severe pain), but it seems i've just pulled it worse this time around.
I took an Ibuprofen 800 (which I had from delivery) and I've got a hot compress on it now. I've never been to a chiropractor, but it seems like maybe I should look into it. This pain is no joke.
I have a similar issue, and I'm pretty sure it's a muscle issue.
A few weeks ago, it hit me, and I couldn't breathe. MH was so scared because I was gasping for breath and starting to get really upset. Anyway, mine is kind of near my shoulder. It sucks. And the stupid part is that it'll go away and come back, but I never get it checked out because around the time it starts to be too much, it goes away.
