Is there a 9 month sleep regression??

About to lose my mind here.  DS used to be a good sleeper.  He woke up 1x night and then around 5a I would bring him to our room, feed him and he'd go back to sleep until 730a.

For the last 2 weeks, I put him to bed at 7, he's up at 8, 9, 11, 3, then I'm finally too tired and bring him to bed with us where he doesn't sleep any better!!  Today he was up at 3a, I brought him into our bed and he was trying to sit up and go until I finally got up wiht him at 630a :(

WTH is this and when will is stop??  I thought teeth, then ears, took him to pedi (2x actually!) and his ears are fine.  Doing Motirn or Tylenol before bed, Oragel etc.  Please tell me this is going to end soon b/c I'm exhausted!

Re: Is there a 9 month sleep regression??

  • There is supposed to be one around 8 month I believe, but TB had it more around 9 months and ML around 10 months.  It's whenever they're about to crawl or walk or whatever.  It will end, it always does, I promise.  These phases just seem extra long because your days are longer too ;o)  The day they learn whatever it is they're trying to learn, they sleep wonderfully for a blessed 3-4 days.  Maybe it's something invisible, like pronouncing a new sound or whatever, but if it's sudden and intense, then it's almost certainly due to his brain explosion.

  • He's already furniture cruising so I really HOPE he isn't going to walk just yet!! :)  He has been trying REALLY hard to communicate lately though, so that's probably it.  I just have a really hard time chalking things up to normal regressions b/c I'm always worried that he's sick and I don't know! :(
