Computer help needed!

Can someone tell me how to find a file that I never officially saved?  I have the auto save on but I didn't name my document and Windows did an update and restarted on me before I finished with the file I was working on.  :-P  I know I should have given it a name and saved it myself but I wasn't thinking that far ahead.

Nevermind!  I found it when I opened word.

Uuuuugggggghhhhhh restart.

Try searching your computer for a phrase that you know is in that document, and unlikely to be in other documents. You should have an option for something like "search within documents" that you can use to avoid scanning every file on your computer.

 

If that doesn't work, re-open word and pray to all the powers that be that it magically pops up with an auto-recovery document

I didn't know you could do that!  I'll remember that for another time.  Right now I'm just peeved that I couldn't remember how to recover it.  And now I have to tackle getting Adobe to open a file for me.  :-P  I hate computers some days.
