So we were about to build a train table for TB, with instructions from Knock Off Wood (thanks to whoever posted about that blog!). But there is one (with drawers!) on craigslist for $25. It's not exactly the one I would want, and H said he'd build it to my specs (large enough for trundles) but $25, wow.
Re: Hmmmmm... build a train table or buy a used one?
I bought a second hand table with trains glued down and a bunch of trains for around $100 or $125. Worth every damn penny. Then I bought a bunch of loose track and second hand trains about a year later and DS stopped playing with all of it. Now it's in the basement. He'll probably re-visit it, I guess. But we don't have a deep love of carpentry --- so making it wasn't an option. Hell, gluing it down wasn't an option. Hell, I've had "put up bathroom hook" on my to-do list for months and DH just did it TODAY.
By the way, DH says he's going to build me a raised, terraced garden bed. Let's see how long that takes...I say a year
