I don't understand....

...this FB viral post:

I traded eyeliner for dark circles, salon hair cuts for ponytails, long showers for hairy legs, late nights for early mornings, designer purses for diaper bags and I wouldn't change a thing!! I LOVE MY KIDS!!!! With Mother's day drawing near lets see how many Mom's Repost this. Mom's don't care what we gave up and will continue to give up for our kids!!!!!?

WHY do you have to trade those things JUST because you are a mom?????

I'm about to post

I kept my eyeliner, salon cuts, long showers, late nights, designer purses and I wouldn't change a thing.  I LOVE MY KIDS!!!! But just because I have kids doesn't mean I can't still be a woman who cares about myself!

Re: I don't understand....

  • I freakin' hate those things.  If I traded any of those things, it's not b/c I have kids.  It's just b/c I've gotten lazy in my old age.  LOL!

  • Agreed.

I don't see why its assumed becoming a mom equals losing yourself.

  • Well, duh.  It's obvious--you don't win the mommy game unless you give up the most and then let all your friends know via FB.
  • I was like that for the first couple of months, but other than that, I tried to have it together.
  • Ditto breezee - I think it's like that for a lot of people the first few months as you get adjusted, but I can't imagine letting it last forever.  Although, I do know I see plenty of people who look like that's their attitude.

Related, I hate stupid facebook copy to your status stuff like this.  Some things I think are okay, but this kind of thing is lame-o.
