c-section.  I thought you were told to fast.  That's usually why they schedule surgery so early, no?

Yes, no eating or drinking after midnight. Why?

yes, no eating 12 hrs before I believe, however they don't always schedule them early because of that.

My poor girlfriend has one scheduled for 1pm on Monday.  My 1st one was unplanned, but my last 2 were real early..I had to be to the hospital between 6-8am or so.

She'll probably be told to not eat or drink anything after say, 4 or 5am? Sometimes there are several C-Sections scheduled in a day and they are generally scheduled 2 hours apart. So, they could be 9-11-1. It just depends. GL to her!!

Yes, nothing to eat or drink past midnight.  In case the patient has to be intubated.

My OB told me no eating or drinking 8 hours prior to scheduled c-section.  Since I have to have a c-section this time around (boo!) I am hoping for an early morning one or I will be starving!

Mine was at 1pm too. I ate a late huge steak dinner the night before and that tied me over. I was still hungry, but the steak dinner the night before helped. It was our "last supper" before embarking on parenthood.

ETA: I was told nothing to eat or drink after midnight.
