Anyone converting crib to toddler bed?

Is anyone converting their crib to DC's toddler bed? It seems like all the toddler rooms I see here have twin beds and it has me second guessing whether or not I want to convert ours anymore. That was definitely our plan when we bought it but I'm not sure anymore!

No, only b/c we hope to have another baby to use the bed.  We'll probably just put a twin mattress on the floor for a while.  I don't plan to use a toddler bed.  Unless I find one on CL.

We just converted DS' crib to a toddler bed this week.  We'll probably use it until he gets too big for the mattress (I'm guessing around 2 yrs. old) and then, we'll switch out to a twin-sized bed.  I thought converting would make for an easier transition for him since we've done it so early, rather than a bigger change with an entirely new bed.

I didn't think about DS outgrowing the mattress! We just found out we're expecting again and I'm due very shortly after DS turns 2 so DS may not be in the converted toddler bed for long. How did your DC do in the toddler bed??

So far, so good.  We have the mattress and the bottom panel of the crib on the floor right now until he gets used to it.  Then, we'll move it up to the regular converted height.  He thinks he's pretty cool now that he can get in and out of his bed by himself.  Lol.

Afternoon nap has been a small obstacle, but he eventually gets tired and falls asleep.  Bedtime has been great.  He wakes up and comes into our room around 7 am with a big smile on his face.  It's pretty cute.
