Sleep positioners - only for co-sleeping?

I had never heard of a sleep positioner until recently. Are they intended for co-sleeping families?  Are they recommended for cribs?  We're planning on using a bassinet at first then moving her to her crib so I'm just wondering if I should add this to our registry or if it's not really needed.

We used our sleep positioner in our bassient PNP.  By the time we put him in his crib (8 wks), he had grown out of it.  It gave me peace of mind that he wasn't rolling around, though.

We used one in the crib.  We didn't use it until he was 3 or 4 months old and rolling over though.  I was so paranoid about him sleeping on his stomach at first that I knew that would keep him on his back for a while longer.  The pedi suggested it too but said there would come a point that he would learn to roll over the edge...which he did around 5 months so we stopped using it.

We used one for both kids. We would lay them at an angle in them so that they were laying on the side of their head and rotated which side each night. Neither kiddo liked sleeping on their back and we were able to prevent flat head.

We used one in the PNP bassinet, but G hated it.  He never slept well in it so it didn't help us at all.  He now sleeps in his crib with nothing and does fine.  He can roll over though but hasn't yet while sleeping.
