I just bought it today because its been one of *those* weeks and I am yelling more than I care to admit. Did you find it helpful? Maybe even lifechanging?
Actually, I am almost done reading it. I did find it helpful. Nothing he says is very earth shattering though, but I found it to be a good reminder of how ineffective yelling really is.
I also posted here once about yelling and Zenya had an amazing response. She listed reasons she uses/thinks about to help her not yell. The one that really really stuck with me is: only bullies yell at 3 year olds.
Every single time I raise my voice now I think about that. I'm sooo far from being "cured," but between the responses here, and that book..I'm doing much much better.

I remember that! I would like her to repost that so I can make a copy.

Thanks for the feedback!
I think Zenya is a reformed "yeller", so whatever advice she has is tried and true, I'm sure. The bully comment is simple and true.
At this point, I would be thrilled with doing much better and then working on it from there. I hate the guilt I feel after I yell and I don't want my boys to remember me as a stressed out, maniac mom!

Re: Anyone read Screamfree Parenting?
Just reading the title of this post I thought, "I need this book." I have always been a yeller and have been working on it for quite a while.

I will! I read the reviews on Amazon and they were very positive.
