Anyone up for some Friday Confessions?

I've got one, so I'll start :)

I went to bed last night around midnight, and didn't wake up until almost 7:30! I couldn't believe it! Charlie still wakes up usually 2 times per night at least. I was going to get up and check on him, and I looked at the monitor. It was set to Leo's channel all night accidentally...oops...

I felt so terrible. I went in and looked at him and he was sleeping with one arm out of the swaddle so I'm sure he was awake at some point during the night. I'm honestly surprised that I didn't hear him because his room is not far from ours. Definitely going to be triple checking the channels from now on :(

Re: Anyone up for some Friday Confessions?

  • Are these flame free???

    haha, just kidding.

My back is so in pain that I attempted to get the boys to watch tv this morning.  It didn't work b/c they would much rather bother me, but I tried.  How horrible am I?  Sigh.

  • C and I met my mom for lunch yesterday and while I was trying to get ready, she was extremely cranky and wanted nothing to do with "independent play". She started cracking up when I brushed my teeth (she loves our toothbrushes), so I let her play with DH's toothbrush while I finished getting ready. When I was done, I just rinsed it off, put it back in it's place and haven't said anything to DH.

Oh, like C's teeth are really awful.

And don't you hate when they're not feeling the "independent play"?  The boys always think that "independent play" should involve me.  They're too nice with the sharing.  I need to learn to hide better.  And wear earplugs..

  • I was mad at my DH last night so when baby C had a poop diaper I changed it on DH's side of the bed without a sheet underneath and didn't wrap up the diaper when I plopped it by his pillow.  I don't think any poop actually got on it but at that point I dont think I would have cared if it did.

  • Even though I will see it anyway, I think the SATC 2 movie looks pretty dumb. I don't understand the plot at all, other than that they are in Abu Dhabi.

  • I got mad at DH this morning because I thought he stopped recording CSI so he could record the draft and some other TV show he was watching. I told him he was being selfish. He said he stopped recording his show and kept CSI because he knows I need stuff to watch during the daytime. I told him he was lying. I just found CSI on our DVR list, watched it and deleted it. I have no intentions of admitting I was wrong to DH. Embarrassed
  • So far these are all cracking me up. You guys are sneaky! In a funny way ;)

Her teeth are non-existent! She still doesn't have any.

  • I made a lunch run to Whole Foods to pick up some more organic food for DD. Then swung by Taco Bell on my way back to work for me.

My daughter eats way better than I do.

    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • We owe my parents $3,000 back from 2006.  We are finally in a position to pay them back, but I'm hoping they tell us to forget about it.  I know we should make them take it on principal....but there is soooo much we could do with $3k.

  • 1) I don't trust Realtors, and I think the majority of them are LAZY.  I used to be one back in WI, which makes me trust them even less because I know 90% of my co-Realtors weren't trustworthy and treated people like crap and that was the main reason I ended up hating my job.  My distrust was further cemented after our really unhappy real estate experience last spring with a Realtor who seemed great and gung-ho at the start, then let me down every step of the way.  I REALLY don't want to use a Realtor to list our house when we sell in a year or so, because I think it's a total rip off to pay someone such a buttload of money for things I can do better myself - photos, write-up, staging, etc.- I basically redid everything our agent did because it all sucked (anyone remember the swans??)  But I also know from experience that FSBO isn't the way to go, so I'm not sure what we'll do.  ((Sorry to any Nestie Realtors, I'm sure you're awesome and in that 10% that may actually be trustworthy.))

    2) Putting one kid down for a nap while the other one is awake SUCKS.  So today, when I went to put A down for his nap, I put V in her bouncy chair facing the TV because she was cranky and totally unwilling to play in her crib or on her play mat.  I was desperate.  It was the news, so at least she got an education.

We just sold our house FSBO, closed this morning, actually. If you want to email me, I can tell you about our experience and how we were able to sell within about 1.5 months. kmchristmas at gmail

  • I've been crazy emotional lately...so at work if I come across a case that is going to involve confrontation I skip over it and leave them for my male counterpart. I'm sure he's on to me by now...but I don't care and am planning on crying my way out of it if he brings it up.

  • I brought my lunch today but ended up going out and picking something up. Freebirds and a Hey Cupcake cupcake sounded so much better than Tuna Helper (which I'm kind of embarassed to admit that I eat).
  • I love reading the Family Matters board on the nest becuase it always makes me feel better about disliking my MIL so much. It's nice to know other people have it way worse than I do.

  • My feeling are hurt that it didn't even occur to dh to go to out TTTC appointment with my OB next week. I know I should just tell him that I want/need him to be there but I am being stubborn and just want him to think of it on his own :(
  • I've been at work for 3 hours ... so far I've managed to put on foundation and eyebrows. I look like a clown and don't care.
  • I promised to make a birthday cake for my cousin's son last month. He told me flat out he wants a Strawberry cake. I am going to pretend I do not remember that and I don't plan on (re)asking what kind he wants b/c I made Strawberry last month and I want to try a new recipe. I mean, he's 4, he won't remember....right? Huh?
  • I get on DH's case if he is on baby duty and I see him on the computer or watching TV, but DD definitely gets "independent playtime" when I'm on duty.

I justify it in my head by the fact that he has her for 4 hours a day, 5 days a week and I have her all the rest of the time. Literally. Nighttime is mine, the rest of the day is mine (while he's at work) and he isn't usually home on weekends, so those are mine too. I figure I "earn" my independent playtime and he shouldn't need it when he only has her for 20 hours of the whole week.

  • Seceretly hoping I've manipulated my in laws into eating at Trudy's tonight istead of tomorrow night because I have plans tomorrow night.  Devil

I spent a small fortune at the outlets in San Marcos today. Embarrassed
  • I got done with work early and since it was too early to pick up DD (during nap time) I decided to get a little me time in. I am currently sitting in an empty movie theater, watching Date Night and secretly loving having no one talking to me or asking me for anything. I love seeing movies by myself and feel like I hit the jackpot when I am the only one in the theater. :)

  • I broke down and bought the hypnobabies home study course after listening to the aftermations cd and relaxation. After buying it I realized it is covered under our flex care spending account!!! I could have bought this weeks ago.

It is!?? Dang I should've used that for mine! Isn't it the most relaxing thing ever? Listening to the tapes and practicing the techniques basically cured all of my sleeping issues during pregnancy.

  • DH has been seriously bugging me to finish daycare paperwork to get the boys enrolled this summer.  He is really stressing.  Yet I keep procrastinating because I just don't wanna!  I don't want to put them in daycare this summer.  Especially to work on something so painful.  :(

I just got it today. Downloading them now. I plan on diving into the book and cd's this weekend.

  • It's still Friday...so not really a confession, but I've had some beers with my neighbors and typing is not as easy as I thought it would be...that's my confession.  I figures I deserved a few beers after throwing a kick-a$$ prom!!!

DH makes fun of my main Pandora station regularly.  It's almost exclusively Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, The Cure, Depeche Mode, and New Order.  You can come to my house for a singalong anytime.  :)  We can send the husbands out to listen to whatever inferior stuff they want.

batsteph, I knew I liked you.  I'd listen to your station anytime.  Add in some Duran Duran though.  :)

Erasure is my 2nd favourite band.  They are awesome.
