*~*~MC~*~*

So remember when you posted this recipe: https://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/03/thats-the-best-frosting-ive-ever-had/  ? Well, I have thought about it on several occasions since that day. I had a question, when you made this, was it sturdy enough to hold shape for piping on a cake? Does it crust over? I am making a birthday cake for my cousins little boy this weekend but it is a fish bowl cake and I will be piping some fish and stuff on to it and would hate for the icing to be too runny. I am DYING to try it though. TIA!

Re: *~*~MC~*~*

  • Oh man. You know, I have made no less than three batches of (different) frosting since making that. I am in search of the perfect frosting for a cake to stand up in hot weather.

No. I wouldn't use it for piping. Frosting the cake, ABSOLUTELY. Piping...it might be a bit risky.

  • Darn. That is what I was thinking. Sigh I will have to wait a little longer to try this one.  Thanks!
