Follie check #2 did not go so well. Still only 3 follies. The doctor has suggested that we could change this cycle to an IUI. It is really our decision though and we have no idea of what we will do. We could change to IUI and then go for a 3rd IVF or we could continue and do the retrieval for the 3 follies, hope we get 3 mature eggs and then hope that all 3 fertilize.
The other option is do a donor egg cycle if this one doesn't work. I think that if we get to that point we would go the DE route. It's just really tough trying to wrap my head around not having a genetic child of my own. I know that I will get there but today I feel very defeated.
Re: Follie check #2...not so good
Oh Char, wish I could say something to make you feel better. (((hugs)))
Look at Mrs Kario, the hail marys do work! So don't lose hope!
Char all you need is ONE good one.
All I could produce were 3 eggs, all 3 matured and all 3 fertilized. Keep the HOPE and FAITH. It is a hard decision to make but trust.
Good luck and I'll be thinking of you.

Oh char..
What a tough decision. I know you will make the correct one. I only takes one. Here's hoping those three follies have three brillant eggs.
Hang in there.
hang in there, it's not over until it's over. There are good things to come!
I know it's easier said then done, but don't give up hope.
Hugs and T&Ps
Dear Char, I am sorry that your follie check didn't go as you hoped.
As everyone else has said, it really does only take one.
And that holds true whether you chose to go through the IVF or convert. You will make the right decision.
Sending you and your follies big hugs, thoughts, prayers.
Thoughts are with you Char and as many pp have said it takes just one!
Oh Char - I'm sorry. That is a tough decision and the prospect of the DE route, well that one would take anyone some time to process.
My Blog

I know it's not the result you wanted but don't give up hope. I did IVF and only had 3 follies each time. I got pregnant both times. They actually got 4 mature eggs and 7 mature eggs with those 3 follies each time.
I will also tell you that I only had 2 follies for the longest time on my last IVF (current pregnancy). They were going to cancel but at age 42, they said it wouldn't get any better so I could go forward if I wanted. On the day of the retrieval when they went to do the scan, the 3rd follie showed up. So sometimes they just take longer to pop up. That's when they got the 7 eggs- the most I ever got since I don't respond well. So just wait and see how it goes- you never know. It really only does take one.
Good luck!!! I'll be thinking of you.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
Char, I'm so sorry. I agree with iluvtom, that you've got to go with your gut. The last time I did an IVF, they canceled it with 3 follies too, but one was really huge compared to the others.
I hope you are feeling better about things today. We love you!!
Char - sending big hugs. I wish I had something to say to make you feel better. Good luck with whatever decision you make.
As others have said you can have success with lower numbers retrieved. Remember JillAlly - she had a similar situation and was thinking about cancelling her cycle. Well she didnt and got a BFP.
I am holding out some hope that you have a few more at your next U/S.
