LO on Nexium?

Hi-  DS had been having some major relux issues, and was on zantac 3times a day and it was not helping might. His GI doc put him on a 1/2 pack of nexium (5mg) 2 weeks ago, but his reflux has gotten worse. At least 2 times a day he will spit up his entire bottle (3 to 4oz), anywhere from 30min to an 1hr after he eats.

 If your LO is on Nexium how long did it take for it to start working? or did you have to switch to another med?

    It took Robbie about 2 weeks to see a difference and probably 3 before it really did everything it was going to do.

    DD started out on the 5mg of nexium, and it took about 2-3 wks to get full affect. We are up to 10mg twice a day.

    Thanks for the info.  i have put a call into the GI dr. about it.  Hopefully will hear something on Monday. It seems like he always has the massive spit-ups in the middle of the afternoon, so it seems like he needs a middle dose during the day. since he gets nexium in the morning and zantac at night.  But he has also gained 2lbs + since he started the nexium so i think the dosage needs to be changed too.
