OK, so fail #1 was former co-worker saying her husband is actually mad they didn't win the lottery this week. This wouldn't be so annoying except this couple lives in one of THE most affluent parts of town, and while they both work, I get the impression that they have trust funds (or something similar) to help supplement their income. Granted, I do know she's trying IVF, so I guess I can't fault them for wanting/needing more money, but it's still a little frustrating when I don't see how we could even consider IVF b/c of the price.
Fail #2--FIL posting a pic of his step-great-grandbaby. His wife (DH's step-mom) has a 15 y.o. grandson who KU his g/f, and everyone's now ooohing and ahhing over how cute she is. At least when the birth of the great granchild was announced, my DH did respond to his dad saying, "Hey, you don't even have a grandchild from us yet!!" Sigh........
Re: 2 FB fails in one day (one TTCR; one not)
I loathe FB, which is funny because after my mom died I decide to create a FB account because I lost my go to person for family gossip. Well, my aunt (mom's sister) has taken over as go to person (actually both my aunts) so I don't see a reason to use it. I usually only go to FB if someone posted something on my wall or sent me an email. I never post my 'status'.
Sometimes if I'm bored I'll go on and read people's status and roll my eyes...especially at my cousin who I often consider unfriending. LOL
The good thing I got out of FB is that I found an old friend of mine from when I was a wee lass. So I suppose I cna't loathe FB that much.
Yeah, I was very anti-FB at first, but now that I've been on it a few months and have reconnected with several friends I'd lost touch with, I do enjoy it. But it's frustrating.
The thing is my 2 SIL's (DH's sisters) have trouble with TTC, too. One has been married for 10 years and ended up doing an international adoption because she never got pg. The other has (according to MIL) been trying (or at least not avoiding) for almost a year now without success. Then there's me with 2 m/c. Step-MIL hasn't posted any pix and it's her great-grandkid, but FIL, who has 3 kids unable to have one successful pregnancy among them, posts it. I can't help but think, "Gee, thanks for being sooo sensitive!"
