And bought Sophie the Giraffe for Charlie. I've kind of wanted one for awhile now - I mean I have every other nest craze, from the baby crack machine to the glowing sea horse, but for some reason I always felt like buying a $15 teether was just too decadent.
Well I bought one for a friend's new baby yesterday, and I could barely stop myself from just ripping it open and giving it to Charlie, aka Mr Grab and Chew. I just knew he would love it and I wanted to see him play with it sooo baaaad. Plus basically all of his toys are passed down from Leo and that is just totally unfair and I'm sure he feels completely slighted, somewhere deep down beneath his never ending smile, lol.
So I ordered another one off of Amazon
He better love this thing! Has anyone ever bought one and had their DC been "meh" about it?
Re: I finally broke down...
DD is usually kind of "meh" about hers, but she also have a bazillion other toys here to play with so she loves each one for about .45 seconds and then ditches it for the next best thing.
She does, however, adore every other Sophie she encounters, regardless of who owns it or what mouth it may currently be in.
The O'Baby Blog
I haven't invested in one because I just can't stomach spending almost $20 on a piece of plastic, but I'm sure A would love it. My mom was digging through my old trunk of baby stuff and found a mini version of Sophie that was mine circa 1979, and she washed it and gave it to A, and she loves that thing! I'm pretty sure it was made with toxic plastic and lead paint or some crap, but oh well...
I tried to see if I could con MIL into buying Sophie for all the babies in the fam, but DH said it would be rude to ask her to buy us crap.
That is hilarious
We were disappointed when we took ours out of the box and realized that we bought a $20 dog toy, But Sophie and Lil V are serious BFF's.

We have one for Charlie and another version minus the projection for Leo. They get nice and loud. We use them at night and during naps so they don't wake each other up
