I swear J eats crazy amounts of food. Abby has always been a good eater but it is insane the amount J eats.
For example we just sat down for lunch ~10 minutes ago. He has already put away 3/4 of a medium sized avocado (i took a couple of slices or my sandwich is the only reason he did not eat the whole thing), 2 slices of turky slices, about 1/4 cup of cheese and he is still wanting more.
I usually just stop giving him food at some point when I think he has had more than enough and he is not going at it quite as strong. But, he has only actually acted full (not really eating/playing with the food) a couple of times ever.
Just curious- how much does your ~1 year old eat per meal on average?
Re: How much does/did your ~1 year old eat?
He maaaybe will take 5 bites of anything other than fruit. We're really having a tough time with him eating, though. Breakfast is always the best meal (he can eat an entire normal sized pancake + a banana, 1 slice of french toast + banana), but lunch and dinner are totally hit or miss.
Have you talked to your pedi about it?
It totally depends upon the day. The other morning he ate 3 mini pancakes, 1 whole morningstar sausage, one banana and he was STILL hungry so I gave him a container of yobaby yogurt. Other mornings he won't eat anything but the yogurt.
For lunch/dinner he usually eats the equivalent to about 1 cup of food. Again it depends. Some nights I can't get him to eat anything, other nights he devours everything I put on his tray.
around 1 year he ate everything i put in front of him and asked for me.
He got on a big growth spurt around that age. I always just sorta poke his belly, if it's round and fairly firm, he's full if it's really squishy, then he can have some more.
No, it is not something I am worried about. I just think he is a big eater. I know he eats more than Abby did at this age, but I was just curious about what other babies close to his age were eating.
Nope, he has pretty much always eaten like this since starting solids. Like I said I am not worried or anything.
I was just curious what others his age were eating. I guess my post sounded like I was worried. sorry!
