Play and Learn Rec?

Does anyone have any thoughts on Play and Learn in Ardmore, pa?

Checking them out in a few weeks, but wanted to see if anyone has had any experiences with them.

Let me know!

Thanks

Re: Play and Learn Rec?

  • we were in Play and Learn Abington and I pulled my LO out after a month. the facility won me over, but the staff was less than desirable. The director was very cold and "administrative" rather than hands-on. the infant room was very under staffed. they said they had a 1to 4 ratio, but every morning I dropped off, there were like 7 babies and one teacher -and the teacher was always engaged feeding a child -sometimes in the kitchen area, out of sight of the play area! And she said "she's coming soon" to my questions about where the other teacher was. i found this unacceptable when the corp office asked us to submit a schedule a month in advance. they knew that many babies would be there before 8, so why was teacher #2 scheduled to come in at 8:30? i felt heartbroken every morning leaving my 3 month old there...all alone in a swing, that didn't swing, mind you! The swings had no batteries! I was tempted to go buy some, but thought, what is all that tuition going towards!

i know every location is different with chain daycares, so maybe ardmore is much better. I love the place we are now, and am so glad we switched.

  • I live near the Ardmore location too.....I have never heard anything about it.  I know a few people that use the Bryn Mawr location and love it!
