Hi ladies. So speaking of travel, DH and I have planned a trip to Buenos Aires in late May/early June. It will be our babymoon, so to speak. I'm starting to get really worried about it. Here's the deal: when we leave, I will be about 17 weeks. The flight is 10 hours long, and it is overnight. We are in coach class, and I'm really concerned about my comfort level on the plane and ability to sleep, given that the seats don't recline very much. The time change is not that big of a deal as it is only 3 hours different. Also, we did just travel to London several weeks ago (before the big volcanic ash thing), and our flight was about the same length (10 hours from London to Dallas). The difference there is that it was earlier for me and neither of the flights were overnight. I was antsy and bored (even with all the movies), but I wasn't trying to sleep.
I've read a number of blogs online of women who have traveled internationally throughout their pregnancies, but I'd love to hear from someone a few degrees closer. Also, we went to Africa last year, so we were vaccinated for everything that might be an issue in Argentina, and we're not going to any malaria areas so no worries there.
Thanks for any thoughts and experiences you can share.

Re: Speaking of travel....
I thought I remember hearing you can take sleeping pills while PG, yes? might want to look into it - ambien does nothing for me but put benadryl in the room and I'm out like a light.
have fun!
I'll be going to Bogota, Colombia at 24 weeks. OB said it's fine, barring any complications (I'll have an appt. right before I leave).
I do have an aisle seat on the flight so I can get up and walk around whenever possible, and I'm also going to see about getting a seat in the bulkhead row for a little more legroom.I've flown w/ both pregnancies. I flew international w/ the last one and am w/ this one too - but this time it's only Mexico so not too bad. I've found it's really no different - other than I have to go to the bathroom more and needing much more liquid. So, be sure to get some water before you get on the plane. Also, walk around frequently to help swelling. I do remember swelling a bit more.
I never sleep well on planes in general. But you can try a Tylenol PM to see if that helps.
Thanks ya'll. That makes me feel a lot better. I'll check with my OB to see if I can take ambien while PG - that would be great as that stuff knocks me out!

I'm not sure about Ambien but I know Unisom is okay.

Thanks! I would LOVE to go to Iguazu Falls, but that is a malaria area of the country and I can't take malaria medicine while PG.
We did just see Victoria Falls while I was in Africa last year, so I'll just try to think of that and pretend we're there.
