NEED HELP! Gonal F Pen

Hi ladies...

Can anyone tell me how much medicine is given with each click of the pen when injecting it? I set the pen to 150 and it only clicked once. Im use to 4 clicks for my whole dose.

Im  sorry if im not making any sense...I just dont want to screw this up!

TIA!!

Re: NEED HELP! Gonal F Pen

  • I'm not going to be a lot of help since last night was my first time using the gonal f pen (I used follistim before), but here's my experience...

I set it to 225 and it clicked a number of times as I injected. I'm not completely sure how many, but it was probably 5 or more. I also primed it before that - set it to 37.5 - and it clicked once when I did that. GL!

  • there's 37.5 in each click.

If you only got one click, you need to open another pen and dial to  112.5 to deliver the rest of the dose.

in the future, if you look at the red line when you pull up the dial, you'll be able to see how much is left in the pen, by seeing which number has the last visible red line.

didn't they explain all of this in your med teaching class?

Thank you both for your help...they did go over this in the class but that was 2 months ago so I sorta forgot & thought it would be best to check with you girls first.

This. You must have been at the end of your old pen.

  • everyone else is correct.

the redline tip helps a lot - especially if you have opened/half-used pens. I know the black line/#s are sometimes so close I can't tell if I'm at the right one - so the clicks are key.
