? diaper rash prevention cloth diapers

my daughter (5 1/2 months old) wears cloth diapers at home only (day care is disposables)- she seems to get diaper rash more after wearing cloth diapers (I don't let her stay in wet diapers long)- can you recommend some good ointments that are safe for cloth and my other question is do you think i should try a different detergent on the diapers?

I surely don't know, but the same thing happens to my son after using cloth each weekend.  It's awful!
