Preemies

Those who had/have Pre-E do you remember what your BP was when diagnosed?

I had Pre-E with DS and the one thing I can't seem to remember is what my initial high blood pressure was that tipped my doctor off to pre-e.  My blood pressure has been slowly climbing since the beginning of my pregnancy and my doctor hasn't seemed worried yet, but I am.  I started out about 106/60 and am now at 130/80 give or take a couple numbers.  Do you remember what your blood pressure is/was when your doctor took notice?

  • The first time I went to the hospital it was 168/98, they gave me meds and got it down to the 130s/80s and discharged me.  The second time it was 178/102, at that point they didn't let me leave the hospital.

  • I never officially was diagnosed with pre-e, but I had high BP my whole pregnancy with meds.  My BP was routinely 150/100 and higher from 8wks on. I did the 24 hour urine and blood draw several times. At 37wks it was 180/120 and was induced.

  • 186/113

They usually are looking for anything over 140/90

  • Yeah I remember the 140/90 and up being the danger zone, but I know I was being watched closely before my numbers were quite that high last time, and with my numbers rising slowly I'm getting concerned that I'll be in that zone in no time and they aren't really paying attention yet.

  • Bwah ha ha ha...

My OB told me to drink more water and lie down when my bp was 172/107. So I wouldn't go by them. My promary doc was concerned when it would hit mid 140s over high 90s.

*getting mad all over again at my ex-ob.

  • I was told to call the doctor or go to the hospital if the bottom number got higher than 100, or the top number got above 140. I was 130/80 when I was hospitalized with pre-e symptoms, but I was not diagnosed at that time. GL! Try not to stress and see if lying on your left side and relaxing helps it come down a bit.

  • Um... the highest specific I remember was about 278/150, but it may have gone higher and I don't remember.

    Nope, not a typo.

  • 160/110 at 8 weeks.
  • 150/86 at the beginning of my appt. and 160/90 at the end of the appt. it was at this point they sent me to L&D for monitoring.

  • I had PIH before pre-e. Once there was protein in my urine, I was diagnosed with pre-e. I think my numbers were around 160/80. When I had my c-section, it was 200/115.

  • I took my bp at work and it was 140/100.  It had gone down to 140/90 by the time I got to the hospital.

Mine was a sudden onset, though.  Two days before, it was 120/80.

  • 150/110 for admittance and subsequent induction "superimposed pre-e" was the diagnosis.

120s/96 was my first L&D appearance (approx. 2 weeks prior).
