NJ/NYC/Philly peeps-1 night away, advice needed!

I live in central NJ and looking for a nice place to go.  I'm no stranger to these area's but I have one night away with hubby and have no clue where to go.  We've been to all surrounding area's but just don't know where to choose for a nice night away before DC #3 comes along.  We were thinking AC but as always it seems over-priced and we're not gamblers so I'm looking for something new.  I haven't been overnight in Philly so I'm open to suggestions there.  Been to NYC plenty of times but might be looking for something not so crazy and less swollen-ankle inducing :D (unless there's something specifically neat to go to).  I wanted to try Cape May (possibly B&B's) but have no clue where to start or what there is to do.  I'm sure there are other great places in the area (not looking to travel farther than 1.5 hours because of babysitting issues).  Ok, sorry this was long but I'm hoping I'll get some good suggestions!  TIA

p.s. New Hope area is also a possibility

  • If you really want NYC recs, I have a million for you, but if you're looking for something different that fits the bill.  Check out the Lodge at Woodloch.  It is DIVINE.
  • If you are looking for an area where there are lots of B&B's, I know the New Hope/Peddlers Village area has a lot.  There are great little shops there--everything from antiques to trendy, higher end boutiques.

  • oh duh, I just saw in your post that you mentioned new hope.  I'm afraid I don;t have any specific information for B&B's in that area.  sorry!
  • The Angel of the Sea is a B&B in Cape May that is really nice. If you do go, be sure to eat at the Ebbitt Room at the VIrginian Hotel. It is one of our favorite restaurants in the world! Actually, the Virginian might be nice to stay as well. As for Philly, we did an overnight at the Four Seasons once (it was a wedding gift) and that was nice. They have special overnight packages that include lots of different stuff, too. Ours included brunch, which was beyond awesome.
