Moms of 2-Sibling Rivalry Question

DD was 26 months when DS was born and we NEVER had any jealousy issues at all. We made sure to spend one on one time with DD and it seemed to work. DS however is a different story. He is so over the top jealous of DD. If she is in my lap he tries to push her out, he actually bit her the other day. I am baffled. He has never been an only child, but does get a lot of one on one time when DD is at MDO. Anyone else experience this in their second child?

Mine does the same thing lately!  I am guessing it is more of an age thing.  One that we would not have experienced with the first child, because there was no one else around!

Ditto j*w*  I think that it's just an age thing.  We are going through the same stufff, too.  It's been really frustrating.

DD#2 FREAKS out on the rare occasion I pick up DD#1... I guess she's just gotten used to always being one picked up. It's a bad little habit we're trying to break her of, with not much success...

Yes, same thing here.  DS has never shown any jealousy, but DD.  She won't let him sit next to me, cries about it.  Also it didn't start till DS was in pre-school, now she and I have the whole morning together and I guess she's become possesive of me.  It bothers me b/c DS is so easy going that when she starts crying he'll just move over for her.
