I ask b/c I'm debating whether or not I want to commit to going to conference this fall/winter...what's the weather like that time of year? I really want to go to the summer one but just can't swing it.

Fall is generally beautiful. It's my favorite season here. I've noticed over the last number or years that seasons seem to be bumped back about a month or so. September is still pretty summer like and winter really gets going in January. If you can come mid to late October you will see beautiful colors!
Totally unpredictable. Fall can be very tame - we've had many, many fall days that are in the 80s and mild. We've also had early snows. I guess it depends on when you are talking. October - December? Usually pretty mild and often beautiful. Light snow at times, but definitely mild. January/February? Those can be a bear.
Nothing beats Milwaukee in the summer, just because there is always something going on somewhere. We've got lots of festivals, block parties, etc. Winter is pretty rough though.
I get a lot of input on the weather because my husband is a transplant here from Southern California. He was shocked that it rained during the summer.
I *think* fall conference is in November. But I'm not 100% certain.
Man. I really want to go to this summer one.
Almost every weekend in the summer has an ethnic festival down on the lakefront.... most are awesome!! Great food and music.... and Summerfest is the big wammie. Largest music festival in the United States. That's always the last week of June through July 5 ish...
Even if you come in fall/winter, there's definitely some great stuff to do.
I recommend the art museum. If you are at all inclined to that sort of thing, this one is an experience.
If you do end up coming this way in any season, let me know. I have a long list of great restaurants and places to see that I can recommend. I love this city.
Re: Do we have any Milwaukee BOTBers?
MoT

Yeah...um....no.

Chassy, I thinkm even though she has abandoned us. She was close with LeCooke and MoT. I think they had a couple of gtgs.
We have me. I live in Waukesha but I'm basically in Milwaukee. What's up?
And MoT was the only other one I was aware of.
I'm about an hour away from Milwaukee.
That's probably not helpful though.
Mmmm...cake!
