I'm having some heel pain in my right foot only, so I think that rules out plantar fascitis but I'm not positive. I'm thinking I need to get an appointment since it has been about 4 days, but does anyone know if this is a common pregnancy complaint? I'm 23 weeks and one might think extra weight is to blame, but I haven't gained any weight yet (this has been discussed with doc already).
Also, this may be stranger still, but does anyone else feel that they are extra ticklish in their abdomen when pregnant? I'm so sensitive now that it makes me jump when DH puts his hand on my tummy!
Re: Anyone else having...
HI there! Heel pain in only one heel can still be plantar fascitis.... everyon'es gait and step pattern is different even more so when we are pregnant. Even though you haven't gained weight your body's ligaments and such are still shifting which can cause pain in areas you woujldl think would only hurt from weight gain. A good exercise to try for the heel pain is to roll an average size tennis ball under the foot that hurts. Make sure you go all the way from the heel to the toes and go nice and slow back and forth for a few mins. at a time. Add pressure to the ball while rolling as it is comfortable. This helps me. Maybe a good pedicure with foot massage might ease the pain too (my pedicurist gives a great foot/leg massasge as part of her pedicure package and it's only $26.
As far as being extra sensitive... yes indeed! LOL For me, it's my feet that get ticklish with the tough of anything. I wasn't like that before I got pregnant! I would say my belly is a bit extra sensitive too but touch doesn't quite make me jump.
Hope this helps. Congrats and good luck to you!
