Am I the only one with a sane MIL?

I hear these stories all the time about gals and their insane MILs.  I'm happy to say that I LOVE mine, and it makes me sad when I hear y'all talk about the crazies your MILs shovel into your lives.

However, I think I make up for it in the fact that it's my mom that's the slightly nutty one.  I love her, but she's just got her own special way...

I have the exact same situation as you.  My MIL is an angel, sent straight from God himself.  My mom is the one that can be bsc, although since little has been born she's been pretty awesome too.

I hate that some of my best friends can't even speak to their MILs.  I don't know what I would do without mine.

My MIL AND Step MIL are out of their freakin minds.  Luckily, they live more than a thousand miles away and neither of them have my cell phone number.  DH only talks to them about once every 2 months, and I only see them maybe once every two years.

I have no complaints!

I love my MIL!  We are very close, just like I am with my mother.  We're even going to be living with her for awhile when we move to Colorado the end of next year.

Well, mine has severe MS and stays at home all the time in a wheelchair =( She's fairly depressed and DH doesn't make it a point to see her very often. So in that way, she's not an sort of inference or negative aspect of my life but I feel guilty we don't see her more often.

Mine is sweet, and our relationship now is the best it's ever been.  I think part of it for me was having a son and realizing someday I was going to be the MIL - some girls seem to try very, very hard NOT to like their MILs, and I don't want to be that DIL.  So while she has her crazy moments, I choose to focus on the generous, loving, energetic side of her.  She ADORES her grandbabies, so that's also helped me to appreciate her.  Anyone who thinks my kids are as awesome as I think they are is good in my book.  

And I pretty much have the most amazing mom in the world as well, so I'm pretty fortunate in the mother department.

My MIL is pretty sane, considering there's about 1200 miles and an international border separating us.  

...except during those 5 days when she visited back when W was 3 months old.  She was meeeeeeen!!

I can handle you saying stuff to me, but if you're messing with my sweet momma you're crossing the line! (yes, I realize how hypocritical that sounds, but MIL is not sweet). Disclaimer: I may or may not have had a cocktail this evening.

Why, yes she is. She dug through my dresser, took out a pair of my jeans and put them in our recycling bin.

My MIL is awesome as a MIL.  I sometimes question her choices outside our relationship, but she is awesome to me and I really couldn't ask for better.

Nope, same boat as you. My mom is so much nuttier than my MIL. my MIL is seriously the most chill/laid back mother i've met my entire life. She's amazing.

My MIL is fabulous.  My mom, on the other hand, is crazy, inappropriate, immature, has no boundaries and has the emotional age of a 7 year old.  That said, our relationship has improved a lot since J was born.

My MIL is the best ever! She is so supportive and helpful. I enjoy spending time with her! My mom is my best friend, so no problems there. I have so many friends that do not have those relationships with their MIL and/or mom, so I feel very lucky!
