William is 7 mos now and is 20 lbs.
His feet just hand over his current car seat so I have started shopping for a convertible car seat. Someone in my office said she turned her LO front facing once he was 20 lbs (but he was 1 yr by that time). Would it be way to early to turn him around?
In my husband's truck that would be no problem keeping him rear facing but I have a convertible (I know and I am trying to sell it if anyone knows someone that wants one!) and itis going to be very difficult for me to put him in rear facing.
Thoughts?
Re: Front or Rear Facing
I think that at the very minimum you should keep him rear facing until he is a year old. Longer if at all possible, though I understand that doesn't always work.
eta: Also, it is the law in Texas - One year AND 20 pounds

Ditto others. I will add a link to a video showing crash-test footage of both rear- and front-facing kids. Keep 'em rear-facing as long as you can!

Ditto. I watched this on mlf's blog when I was still pregnant and it was enough for me to know I'll be keeping him rear facing as long after 1 year as possible.

thanks so much guys!
