My ER should most likely be this weekend. My lining is just over a 4, and Im spotting & cramping ( Feck it ) My nurse said we'll just have to watch it and if my lining dosent improve we will either cancel ( I dont think so ) or still do ER and freeze what we get. My question - I only have three follicles and because of my age my RE planned on a day 3 transfer of whatever we get. If a FET requires the embryo to go to day 5 and be frozen what are the chances of getting a good egg out of this? Does going to day 5 and freezing take a toll on an egg that may have otherwise stuck?
Re: Lining sucks - FET question
I'm sorry you are dealing with this. It can be frustrating when an already crappy situation gets crappier.
I only had 4 follicles. I had three fertilize and they did a 2 day transfer (because of my low # of embryos). One was transferred and only 1 other one survived. They then froze the 1 I had left on day 3. They did not wait for day 5 to freeze. Hopefully your office will do the same.
Good luck!
FWIW - FET can have great odds of implanting and are sometimes better than fresh transfers. The theory is that you aren't as medicated and your body has time to heal.
I'm so sorry your having to deal with this. I don't know about what chance they have of making it to day five, but everything I've read says that if embryos survive the thaw they have just about the same chance a fresh embryo would. Did they talk about raising your progesterone dose to increase your lining?

I don't have a lot of info, but I wanted to send you (and your lining) tons of PPV. I really hope that things work out. I do know that my clinic usually freezes on day 3. I know this might not be normal, but a day 3 freeze is possible.

After two Clomid cycles, three injectable IUI cycles, two IVFs, two miscarriages, and one lap surgery, IVF #2 has brought us our little boy!
TTC #2
After months of being postponed or cancelled, FET #1.3 (Natural FET) brought us twin girls!
There are clinics that will freeze on day 3 and then thaw embies and have viable embryos to transfer. I think MBJmaybebaby's frosties were frozen on day 3.
I would drink POM juice like it was going out of style for now and see if you can get lining to thicken up.
GL cutie.

I am sending you a BIG HUG right now because I hate hearing others having lining issues. I am so very sorry that this is happening.
I too have also heard that you can freeze embryos on day 3. You are at FCI right? I have a feeling they will be able to do this for you.
good luck and I am sending you a ton of thick lining vibes!!
Sorry about your lining issues. For my DE cycle, we froze on day 3 and when we do an FET (with our lone frostie) we will not wait for it to grow to day 5 before transferring.
I would insist they freeze on day 3 and some clinics will freeze just after fertilization.
