We are having a super hard time with names in this house...
For a boy, would you give a name where first & middle initials would be MF? My DH says he only thinks of the obvious swear word, but otherwise we both like the name.
Honestly, I would love to tell you it doesn't matter because he will rarely use the first and middle name together, but I think I would avoid those initials if possible.

i agree with this. why torture your child, if you don't have to.

This...especially since it's so common for people to use the initials now instead of the actual word...
I'd go ahead. Let's say you name LO Matthew Francis Lastname. Is anyone ever going to connect that the first 2 initials stand for a swear word? I certainly wouldn't. If you plan on calling him by his first AND middle name all the time, I might think twice.

Yes, I would. I wouldn't think of it at all. My father's initials are HORRIBLE, but they were never pointed out to me or him until he was 60 and I was 30. No one notices these things.
I don't see why not. My initials are MAD. No one has ever made fun of me. I hear some joking when I use my initials without my mn (MD), but I think it's kind of fun to be called "the doctor"
My initials were MF - first and last name (I didn't have a middle name) and it was never a problem. I was slightly amused by it when I did have to start using my initials in the work place when I got older. I never got made fun of. I don't think it will be an issue.

Really? I have to say I have never heard anyone say "Em eff." Maybe I hang around too many people say the real thing. ::shrugs::

This exactly. These are my mother's initials (first and last name, not middle) and I honestly have never thought twice about it.

I had a friend growing up whose initials spelled BAD, and it was seriously no big deal. No one notices.
This- it definitely took me awhile to think of what it meant.
This.
