Syracuse ladies - meet up groups?

Do any of you participate in meet up groups for playdates? 

 

DH and I don't know a ton of people in the area, especially those with kids and were thinking about trying to find a group from meetup.com.  Thoughts?  Ideas?

When I was in Roc, I met my playgroup through meetup and it as the best part of living in NY!  I miss them all terribly.  I'd search for one in your area and go meet them.  Join if you seem to click; keep looking if not.  Good luck!

Yes.  I used to be a member of four different Mommy groups on meetup.com.  Now I am only a member of the Syracuse Moms group on meetup.  There can be so much drama with these groups, it is like a Soap Opera if you try to follow it all.  There are a couple I would stay away from, but if you look at the number of members, you can get a good idea that the groups with lots of members are much more friendly.  There is also Mommy and me of CNY which I keep thinking about joining.  And also East Side Moms which is HUGE!
