OB just called...looks like GD again:(

I had GD w/ DD#1, NOT w/ DD#2 so I was hoping for the best...but my OB's nurse just called and said my 1 hr. number was 156 and she wants me to skip the 3 hr. test considering my history and this high number. It's not too high so I will go see a diabetes specialist when they call to schedule and I can hopefully control it again with my diet only. I hope I don't have too much else to do, I do only have 8-10 wks. left of this pregnancy...we will see I guess. But ugggghhhhh...I was really hoping to get by without this complication again! I was induced at 38 wks. w/ DD #1 because of her size and GD. Anyone have to be induced sooner than that with GD and twins? I'm still hoping to get to at least 36 wks. or so.

I was GD and made it 37 weeks and would have gone longer if it wasn't for IUGR of baby B.  As long as they can keep it under control, you should be ok.  Was your GD controlled for #1?  Were you insulin or diet only?  I was able to keep mine in check with a strict diet.

I never made it to the 3 hour test.  I failed the 1 hour so bad that they went straight to changing my diet.

It was controlled w/ DD #1 with diet and a script of glyburide pills. I still just have large babies anyway so I doubt I'll realistically make it past 37 wks. anyhow. DD #1-8lbs.11oz. @ 38wks. DD #2-9lbs. 3oz. @ 39wks. and twins weights @ 26w4d was 2lbs.10oz. and 2lbs.8oz. (93rd and 84th%).

I just got the call today saying I failed my 1-hr test too.  I don't know what my number was, but they're having me do the 3-hr tomorrow morning.  I'm wondering if having twins increases the likelihood of GD?  I don't know much about it.

Wow - great sizes. I wished some of my GD kicked in a little harder and made my LOs a little bigger when they were born.
