Did anyone else have trouble sleeping in the 1st tri? For the love of god I can't get though an entire night without waking up at least 4-5 times. I'm not waking up to pee. It's also an awake that keeps me up for 30 min or more at times.
I've been taking a lot of hot baths to make me fall asleep again as well as watching TV at all random hours of the night.
The doc won't give me anything yet. I can't wait till our next apt as he said we can talking about something to help me sleep if I'm still having the issue.
oh yeah, I'm pg ;-)
p.s. if you know me in IRL please keep it hush hush.
Re: trouble sleeping?
YAY! Congrats! Woohoo! You're due in the middle of playoff season. Poor timing on you DH's part
. Anyway, I can't remember about sleep issues in the first tri but the last tri was terrible. Congrats again!
ETA: Is this the (real) reason for throwing up the other week with R's help?
He's praying to god the kid doesn't come on a game day!!
No I really had a headache!
Thanks
Not really. DH thinks it's just stress on my part. I told him I'm going to start poking him and make him wake up with me.
Thanks
That would be the right thing to do. If you can't sleep b/c of the PG then he shouldn't either. He needs to experience the "joys" of being PG with you.
Star - just consider the timing to be payback for you DH not being able to go to your Grandparent's anniversary party last year. HA!

oh good call!!
unisom is perfectly safe during pregnancy - the regular strength, tablet kind (not the gel kind.) You might try taking just a half of one and seeing if it helps you. It also helps with m/s if that has been bothering you too.
congrats again!

Congrats!!!
I had the same problem in the first tri, even though I was SO exhausted. I think it was just all the excitement, worry, etc of being pregnant. It gradually got better, and now I'm not having any trouble sleeping at all (at least not yet). Good luck!
Congrats!! I was the opposite of you. I could not get enough sleep the first trimester. Maybe your just anxious.
Be careful with your hot baths though. My ob told me to keep the temp. down since it is not good for you or the baby.
I really never had issues. The body pillow would have been a waste for me. My only problem was peeing 14 times a night toward the end.
Maybe try taking 1 benadryl? It's approved and 1 for me was all I needed every once in a while.
Yes, I could not sleep at all in the 1st tri. The joys of hormonal changes.
Per my doc's suggestion I would take either a Benedryl or Simply Sleep a few times a week. I would take 1/2 of a normal dose and would still wake up a few times a night, but instead of staying awake I would be able to go right back to sleep.
It has gotten better the past few weeks, now it's just waking up about twice a night to pee. I haven't had to take anything for it, though.

First congrats! Second I couldn't sleep either but beacuse of morning sickness and unisom was my best friend. Oh man I survived because of that stuff. Its totally safe.
Also I got a snoogle and it really helps. 2nd tri I'm not really sleeping. I wake up alot but I just know its my body getting used to everything that is going on. I wake up and slowly go back to sleep. Right now I just deal with it.
I had that in the first trimester. It sucked. It gets better, though. Then it gets worse again. lol
Thanks! I'll have to check that out. He was pretty laid back about everything I could take/eat/do but he didn't want me on any kids of meds for some reason unless I really really needed them. I'm getting desperate now. I think I had a total of 3-4 hours of sleep last night. It's not that I'm not tired. I'm so drained!!
I told mine I took them and he was cool with it. I'm dealing with out the beer intake. I don't think I could do no beer intake AND no hot bath
He'll be the crazydog that loves it!! As long as someone is touching him he's in heaven!
I took hot baths. I didn't scald my skin by any means, but I had them warm. I would always take a glass of ice water with me and drink it to keep from overheating.
