CRAMPING!!!!!!!!!

This is my first pregnancy. He is due in 13 days. On friday, I was 3 cm and 80% effaced. I have read and read from so many different sources what to expect and that I'll DEF. know I'm in labor when it happens... so I'm trusting that. I guess if I'm questioning, then I'm not.. haha

I have been having period like cramps in my front and back...not exactly the most extreme of them, just crampy.. and it's discomforting as all get out. It's the bloated, heaviness feeling w/ occasional sharp pains. I thought it was gas, but now I know it's not b/c it's been 2 days and it won't go away.. and nothing is happening- if ya know what I mean..

Anybody know what this means? Am I overthinking? Am I just anticipating labor to much and overly hopeful? haha

Well I have no idea since this is my first, but it really sounds like you may be in early labor!  Have you timed the cramps?  Are they in a pattern?  I felt a really painful cramp way down low last night as I was laying in bed.  I got so excited thinking I was contracting, then I didn't have anymore.  Boo!  I hope it's labor for you, I know you are ready (as am I)!!

My water broke before I had any contractions or pain, so keep that in mind. But when you have labor-LABOR pains, you will definitely know. The pain from contractions is so bad (or at least for me it was) that you can't do or think of anything else. Not trying to scare you, but you will know. )

I saw your FB status this morning and I would go back out walking with the dogs for a while, then do it again later.  Its nice today and not too hot.  If it is labor then you want to keep that going then eventually it will get going but good.  3cm?  It took me about 24 hours of hard labor plus my water breaking to get that far...so GOOD FOR YOU!!  Time your contractions, when you hit a 5 min pattern, call your OB.  Good luck!!

your in the beginning stages.  No telling when full labor will happen. When you start having contractions you will be a little out of breathe and will be more consistant.  Do lots of walking! Your so close!

This is how my labor started!  I started having bad cramps in the front and back in the morning.  I was in full-on labor by that evening and went to the hospital around 9:30pm.  Had DH the next day.  You are so close!  Good luck!

Oh, and I also agree that you should try to go out for more walks to help labor along.  So exciting!

My water broke and almost immediately after I started having "period cramps."  My BH and other little pains I had during pregnancy felt completely different.  The early labor pains were the first time I had felt anything even remotely similar to period cramps since I had gotten pregnant.  Definitely sounds like early labor!  Good luck!

Ladies--- thanks so much for the encouraging words... It's much appreciated. I love this board! It's so wonderful... It's nice to be able to hear stories of what other mommies w/ through...

They are not patterned at all.. like, not ever 15, 10.. nothing like that.. Just completely random.

Martha-- I know! That's what everyone is saying.. At 37 weeks, I was 1 1/2 cm and 70%.. then exactly a week later at 38 weeks, I was 3 cm and 80%.... Doctor's were impressed by the progress and told me to have my bags ready.. but not to come until my water broke or I was having painful contractions every 5 minutes.. neither has happened yet! We will see!!

hang in there! you will know when they start to get intense. mine lasted like 3-4 days, and after all that a full day of 2-5 min contractions. I went to the hospital and I was only 2-3!  Keep walking, it helps. I hoofed my 3year old around in a stroller up and down hills in my neighborhood. Good luck!
