How long did your LOs use their swing?

When I was pregnant a friend of mine told us she would loan us a swing. After the boys were born she brought it over and announced that she was pregnant. Anyhow, she's due in 2 months and we'll be giving the swing back. So I'm trying to decide if we should buy a new one or if they will have outgrown it by then. They'll be about 5 months old. We use it almost every day at some point, but they don't spend tons of time in it.

we still stick ours in there sometimes at 8 1/2 months. not nearly as much but sometimes in the evening if they're cranky but it is an hour before bedtime & we just want to calm them down or something.

Instead of buying a new one you can check craigslist (we bought one of our there) or a consignment shop.  Just make sure it works before going home with it. 

We got the rainforest swing for $40 on CL and it has been great

they are just starting to get bored with it. because they want to sit up, so they pull them selves forward, plus they cant reach the toys so unless they are really tired they dont really go it it much at all anymore.

If we got one we'd probably get a used one. That is a good idea.

6 to 7 months.  Emerson slept exclusively in her swing until 4 months.   If it saves you at times, I'd purchase another.

Mine loved their swings and used them until 4.5 months. We went to visit family at Christmas and couldn't take them with us for those 2 weeks so it broke them of it. We got home and they could have cared less about being in them, I sold in Feb. at a consignment sale.

We used ours till about 10m. (Though by that point it wasn't often.)

We used them occasionally until they were 8 months old.  At 5 months we went out and bought a 2nd one... we only had 1 at that point.  I think it just depends on your child.  We were using them for naps until 6 months as it was.
