Babies: 9 - 12 Months

How much? What? How often is your 6 month old eating?

My baby is now 6 months old. I BF for 4 months, but d/t going back to work and stress she is now taking formula.  She just started the stage 2 foods. How much formula is your 6 month taking? How many times a day is he/she eating? Do you do cereal + a baby food together or do you space them apart?  Thanks!!!

  • DD just switched to FF too. She has bottles 4xs a day, around 28 oz total in a day. Pedi told me 28-32 oz was average for her age but they recommend no more then 32oz in a day max.

We only do cereal and DD has it once a day, before bed. Her last bottle is at 8:30, cereal at 9, bedtime is 9:30. We would be doing more, but she's been sick on/off for the last 2-3 weeks (seriously!) so we've been holding off on introducing veggies and other stuff.

  • our ped said 24 oz a day of formula was good. so we are at about 25 oz. they eat 4x/day, 6-6.5 oz a bottle and then 4 oz each of a fruit or veggie  each meal. i give them the food right after the bottle so that im not feeding them all day long. i will mix cereal into a puree if it is too runny. and they get yogurt with breakfast.
