Tandem feeding is a no go

for now.  They are just way too small.  Even with the ez2 nurse, they are just too far from my boobs.  It was a nightmare trying it this morning.  I hope they grow quickly so feeding can get a bit more time efficient.

I found pillows worked much better. Also if you use pillows under a boppy to put them in the correct place. Try a few different things. It makes life so much easier.

  • Don't give up!  It took us a while to get the hang of tandem feeding...Now it's a piece of cake!  Just keep trying every once in a while.

  • I never really liked tandem feeding - it made me feel like a dairy cow... but then again, I stopped nursing at 9 weeks - if I had been able to go longer I'm sure I would have dealt with it.

GL! Keep at it and I'm sure it will get better :)

i didn't have much luck tandem (bfing was tough), but i wish i could've.  i just wanted to say i agree with this.  i am kind of tall, and putting a pillow under the boppy or my breast friend was key when they were really little (also rolling blankets under their heads - higher than you would think).  i only tandem once, and they were 3 or 4 mos - it was a blast, but vivienne was pretty anti-boob by that point.

  • Ditto using pillows. I also used the EZ2Nurse but early on I would use blankets under their  heads to get them higher. Keep trying, I would have had a really hard time without tandem feeding. I felt like I was always nursing as it was if I didn't tandem feed I think that feeling would have been worse.

  • Yup, I ditched the eznurse and just used a boppy.  I would tuck rolled up baby blankets/diapers to "prop" them up so they could reach my boobs.  I loved tandem nursing but it was HARD for awhile.  So worth it by the time they're bigger, you're a pro, and need to feed them out and about.  Awesome.  And easy.

  • don't give up....we came  home from the hospital tandem feeding, but then at 1 week it turned into a scream fest, so we went back to feeding them one at a time, now at 3 weeks we are back to tandem nursing and have been for about 4-5 days! I just use a boppy or 2!  I agree it is tough but saves so much time and a little of my sanity!
