Need help with Lansinoh pump!

I have the lansinoh double electric pump and used it for about 10 months with DD.  Towards the end of the 10 months I had to have it replaced because the suction was barely working.  It wasn't the motor but the little plastic pieces that fill with air and then squeeze in (I think they're called the diaphragms) weren't working.  They need to completely expand and then deflate in order to create a good suction and they were barely expanding and filling with air.  Lansinoh sent me a new pump and it worked a little better but I noticed the same problem. 

I just got out the pump again in preparations for DS and cleaned it all out and turned it on to make sure it was working and I noticed the diaphragms are barely opening/closing still!  This pump is pretty much brand new!

Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have the right sized flange?  I have large breasts and needed the larger flange than what comes with the pump (they sell them on the website).  If your breast is too large, it just won't get a good suction on the smaller flange and that diapragham won't deflate and fill properly.  Just throwing out that possibility...

I have an Ameda but have heard it's the same. Does yours also have the little white cone shaped things that pop on the bottom of the flanges? If so, check that they don't have any tears. Even the slightest tear ruins the suction and the clear pieces won't inflate.
