your shower...

My sister acts indifferent about hosting a shower for me.  She is my only sibling and we are actually close.  A great friend of mine is throwing us a couples shower for the twins.

I have 2 questions (as these are my first bio babies, and no one threw me a shower for my son's adoption)

1.  who hosted your shower for you? (work,  fam or a friend)

2.  how did you decide who to invite?  (don't want to look like i'm asking for gifts)

Thank you everyone!!  Smile

Re: your shower...

  • My sister and friend from hometown threw one together - which I mainly invited old friends and family to.

A couple of friends from my current city threw the other together- which I invited all of our mutual friends too (I have a crafting club so it was mainly all of those ladies).

  • DH's sister threw my shower, and we had a co-ed couple's shower around 30 weeks. It was a lot of fun!

We live quite a ways away from most of our family and friends, so I only invited those who I thought would be interested in driving out - mostly our college friends. In the end we had about 15 people show up. We just rented out a restaurant party room, played some quick and simple games, opened gifts, and guests were free to have drinks and mingle.

My mom and sister are throwing me another shower in my hometown after the babies are born which will be for family members and older family friends, hence why I only invited the younger crowd to the co-ed shower,

  • I was actually lucky enough to be thrown two showers.  My mother and sister hosted one for family and friends.  My co-worker hosted one for our office.  Both were complete surprises, so I didn't have input on who to invite. Had I been asked I would have just stuck with family and very close friends.

  • My mom, MIL, and SIL's threw my shower.  I invited family (on both sides) and friends.  I also had a work shower so that took care of friends from work.

  • Thank you everyone!

I think the couples shower should be fun/funny...not sure what the guys will do. Thanks again.
