In response to your question, it was different, but still hard when I had to leave this LO at the hospital. With DD, I wasn't able to hold her or really bond for a long time. I also, knew that she was going to be there for a really long time, IF she made it at all. So i knew hospital was the best place for her to be when I was discharged. With DS, I was able to room in with him and really bond. So it was harder to leave him, even though I knew he would only be there for a short time and he wasn't even in NICU. one thing I knew for sure, was that no matter how long he would have to be at the hospital without me, that it would not be as rough for him as it was for my daughter.
