PSL mama wondering about diapers

Hi all - I'm the mom from Port St. Lucie who comes on every once in awhile wondering if you all could help me.

My daughter has been using baby dry pampers since she grew out of swaddlers and we never had problems until about 2 months ago.  At first, she got a yeast infection and I chalked it up to diaper changes.  But as of late, she has been getting rashes all the time (every week and a half).  No sooner is her rash cleared up and then another one pops up.  I am so over this.

I know that pampers switched their cruiser line lining, but did they switch their baby dry lining as well? I'm considering switching her diaper brand all together.  Can anyone recommend their brand for a girl? We tried huggies as a newborn and were not happy with it.  It's not a leakage problem - it's just the rash.  I have heard mixed opinions about target but was also curious about BJ brand.  I know I have seen on here that someone (MelB?) has recomeended the wipes - but wondering if the diapers might be worth a try as well? I know she will probably be in diapers for a few months more - and would like to spare her of the uncomfortableness.

 Any input is greatly appreciated!!!

  • I believe they did change the lining on the Baby Dry's as well. We haven't had an issue with them though. I hear Target brand's up and up makes pretty decent diapers, maybe you can buy a small pack to try them!

Thank you Melanie - I am having such an issue about switching without truly knowing anyone who knows about the ups & ups because of the reviews - but honestly, there are bad reviews about anything you read.  I got free new cruisers with max dry and compared them to the baby dry - and to the human eye - they looked the same, but the rash leads me to think otherwise.

    I appreicate your thoughts!

Thanks so much for this - but this, I believe, the new pampers "cruisers" (baby max),

The  baby dry is their "cheaper" line - for lack of better words....but since they changed one...........what's to say they didn't change the other.  I appreciate it!

  • I have always used Pampers - Swaddlers, Cruisers, and now Easy Ups, I've never had an issue with them.  I use the new Cruisers Dry Max for naps and night time and they work well.  I tried Huggies once when she was really little and didn't like the way they fit at all.

Trial and error, buy small packages of a couple brands and try them, maybe try the chlorine free ones.  Also for diaper rash, I've found that cornstarch works much better than any of the creams out there.  Johnson's makes one that's in a baby powder container but its "pure cornstarch" when alexis had a really really bad rash one time and nothing was helping her I tried that and it was gone literally overnight, I was amazed and hooked on it!!

  • I had always used Pampers, and then Huggies every once in a while without any issues.  Recently, anytime I put him in Huggies he had a diaper rash.  About 3 weeks ago, I figured I would try Target's Up and Up brand, and so far we like it.  With that, a case of Up and Up is $12 and Pamper's was around $20.  I have not yet used the new baby dry formula, as i stocked up when BRU had a great coupon and GC deal.  We still use the Pamper's night time diapers.  We are pretty happy with the Target brand.
