Going to doctor for 1st time after TTC

I have been off the pill for six months and am not pregnant yet (I'm over 35).  I am going to the doctor to begin the process of what could be wrong and just wanted to know what to expect the first time.

I was told that they won't do any tests that day cuz they have to order it but they might take some 'cultures'.  Can someone tell me what to expect at my appt and what exactly the testing will consist of?

The doctor is probably just going to ask you lots of questions and you can do the same. He will ask you about what you have been doing to conceive, etc. Then they will start with scheduling blood work and maybe a few tests. Sperm analysis for your DH. They put me on  a clomid trial eventhough i had been on it for a year because they wanted to have something to compare my next trial to. It will mostly be question and answer the first time. Not sure i helped!

RE will take a history, maybe do an exam and baseline U/S.  Then you'll do blood work on your Cycle Day 3, DH will have a SA, and you'll probably do an HSG test which is a dye test to assure your tubes are clear.  You may get a diagnosis from there and determine your next steps.
