Austin Babies

need ob/gyn recs

Hi Ladies.

We've decided to ttc again after losing our sweet Lily at 21w5d last month. I'm not sure if I will get pg again, or how long it will take given that it took me 4 long years to get pg with her. We have also decided to switch ob/gyns. I have been a patient of Dr. Seekers since 2005 and after the experience we had with our only pg... we have decided he's not the Dr for us. I love Seeker, but I just can't go back to him.

Can you reccomend your obgyns? We are currently seeing Dr Kavoussi for RE and Dr. De Stefano for a 2nd opinion/preconception visit as our MFM since she was the specialist who took care of me at the hospital. We don't know what peri/mfm to chose or Ob/gyn... TIA

Re: need ob/gyn recs

  • I currently see Dr. Yoo at ARC Seton Northwest - she's really young, so I might not recommend her as an OB/GYN in your situation, but Dr. Solomon  in the same practice came highly recommended to me (but I preferred a female OB). Dr Bleedsoe in the same practice works with infertility and is also highly recommended. Dr. Yoo diagnosed me as high risk and referred me to Dr. Celeste Sheppard - she's a Peri/MFM -  and I really really love her. She's not warm and fuzzy, but direct and to the point; also she answers every single question I have. Even my DH loves her.

I hope this information helps you a little in your journey.

  • I have seen Dr. Collins and Dr. Braunstein for my 2 pregnancies. There are good/bad about both but overall they are both terrific drs. My high risk specialist was Dr. Berry and he is AMAZING! If he could deliver my babies I would have 20 well not really because my body doesn't do well with pregnancy but he is really kind and very good at his job! Good luck with your decision I know it isn't easy losing someone you have wanted for a long time.
  • I second Dr.Berry.  We love him.  My ob is Dr. Schneider.  She's been great and I really love that entire office-Hill Country ob/gyn.  I've seen their pa for my blood pressure checks, Dr. Eduardo when Dr. Schneider had to leave for a delivery...Veronica in their lab is the only person in my life who has ever drawn my blood without leaving bruises, and that's been awesome since I've had to have a lot of blood work lately.  Good luck with your decision!

  • Igo to Dr. Michelle Irvin up by Round Rock Medical Center.  I have been going to her for 8 years and trust her completely.  She respects my wishes and is very caring.  However, she can also be very direct, which I appreciate.
