Soft and raw milk cheese update :(

DH and I are major cheese-heads. We have traveled for artisanal cheese festivals, that's how into cheese we are. So after our appt today we went to our local fabulous specialty cheese shop that sources rare cheeses from around the world to have them show us what I can eat.

Umm, of the 100+ cheeses in the store, the guy showed me about 8 or 10 that are safe for PG women. But he was happy for us, which was nice.

Cabot clothbound is one that's okay, so I'm psyched about that. Also got some aged gouda, and an interesting pasteurized sheep's milk cheese from France. 

It's going to be a long 9 months. DH and I made plans to have a raw milk cheese-fest in the first days home with baby.

I totally feel your pain!  We're total cheese-heads too!  I see you're from Boston.  Did you go to Formaggio Kitchen?  We're obsessed with that place.   We'll have to have a cheese get together after  the babies are here!

Wow, that's a shame.  I lurve cheese.  It's a food group in our house.

Yet another reason I love living in Wisconsin - tons of artisan cheeses are available that are safe for pregnant women.  Try looking around for Carr Valley - they're one of my local favs. They have a cocoa cardona goat's milk cheese that is do DIE for.

Yup, we went to the Cambridge location today! My DH went to HS with the owners son so he helped us. Have you ever done their cheese tasting classes? Love!

Dh and I are cheese fanatics too, and I know that's the main thing I'm going to miss during pregnancy!  I just canceled our cheese of the month club membership (which I highly recommend!), but will resume it in 9 months!

I have never heard of a cheese tasting course, that is great.  I will have to look for one of those around here (well in 9 months).  I love cheese, but often do not know what to pick for what or what to pair it with.

I love cheese as well, but at least I tend to like the hard cheese more. I think you will still have a lot of options that you still enjoy. But it does suck.
