Girl Name WDYT?

H and I go back on girl names but cannot decide.  We want something Irish and that is not popular.

He really likes the name Fallon but I'm not feeling it.  I'm to the point I don't think there are any girl names that I love (Irish or not) like the way I love my boy names and it won't matter what it is.  WDYT of Fallon?  It would be Fallon Denise (Denise is a definite for mn, it's my late mother's name).

Here's my take on names - I think it's unrealistic to expect that both of you will fall in love w/ a name. It does happen- which is great, but it's not a given. 

My DH found a name he REALLY liked.  It was one of the few that really spoke to him.  I sat on it for awhile, rolled it around in my head, and came to a point where I thought "yeah, I like it.  Lets go w/ it".

I never was able to say "i love it" and that's o.k. w/ me.

I have a cousin named Fallon and i've always like the name personally. She is now a drug addict and is in prison right now, but that doesn't have anything to do with her name, lol. I think Fallon Denise is a nice name.

thats funny because i have dozens of girl names that i love, and no boy names.  turns out im having a boy.

my DDs father said the same thing, her name had to be irish and strong.  so we used Kennedi.  its not to commen and its Irish.  i do like Fallon though.  its cute.

Fallon sounds like a boy name to me...but I'm a fan of boys names for girls anyway.

It definitely sounds like a boy name. Just know that she will always have to deal with that. My DH is 36, has a very girlish name and still deals with getting "Mrs." on his mail, people making comments, and asking for his ID because they don't believe thats his name lol. I'm just saying, she'll have to deal with it too cause Fallon is very "boy"

I think it's a nice name, but just a note: If you care much about the origin of the name, Fallon is an anglicised version of an Irish boy's name, Faolan. It means wolf, and there were a lot of warriors named Faolan in myth. The only person I've met named Fallon was a girl, in America, and it seems to be used mostly for girls in the States, but just wanted to make sure you're comfortable with the origin!
